For your consideration is this vintage 1984 Rickenbacker 4003 electric bass guitar. This particularly nice example is in very excellent all original condition, and looks extremely attractive in rare Montezuma brown sunburst finish. Introduced in 1979, the 4003 later replaced the iconic 4001. With absolutely no issues, no breaks, no cracks, and no repairs, this is the bass to buy. We are offering this bass with an absolute blowout No Reserve/$.01 Minimum auction, so the high bidder will win regardless of price.

This bass, serial number XF 0580, is in 100% all original condition, and includes: an original Montezuma brown finish over a solid maple body, a neck-through construction, a 33.25" scale length, (2) classic single-coil pickups, original Grover tuning machines, a Ric tailpiece/bridge system, triangle fret markers, Mono and Stereo output jacks, and an original hard case.

While this bass is not in mint condition, it is still in very excellent shape. Other than some very minor playing wear on the back of the body, and several very small dings on the back of the neck, this bass is in awesome and intact psychical condition.

Famous for substantial sustain and quintessential punchy presence, this bass works perfectly and sounds amazing. Both pickups sound great, as the two are surprisingly rich and warm. The large chunky neck profile feels very comfortable, as the action is super low all the way up to the 20th fret. All of the controls have been individually tested, and are guaranteed not to scratch or be interrupted by intermittence. The bass is also evenly balanced, and does not feel awkward while playing on your knee sans strap. The bass weighs 9 pounds and 6 ounces, and is a real pleasure to play.

The bass does exhibit a small notorious stress crack in the neck pickup pickguard area, otherwise there is nothing wrong with any of the parts. The bass also includes the original pickup cover, which is not currently on the bass.

Items, which exceed the USPS 70 lb. weight limit, will be shipped via DB Schenker transportation services. All items are shipped via the United States Postal Service, and all packages are shipped with Signature Confirmation.

All items are packed with entirely new packing materials, and S&H charges include both tracking information and signature confirmations. All items are fully insured for the full sale value. For International customers, an additional separate sale invoice will be placed in an envelope on the exterior of the package as to expedite customs processing, unless otherwise requested.
All items are declared at full value, and we never declare a lower value on Customs forms. The flat rate shipping quotes included in our auctions are accurate and are non-negotiable, unless you are having your item shipped to Canada, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine, or Brunei.
