This is a 2006 Rickenbacker 360 Semi Hollow Body Guitar. I bought this guitar from someone that didn’t have a clue on how to take care of a guitar. He gave me some story about how it got damaged. Obviously it got dropped on its’ bottom. It plays fine. No buzzes or any other problems. It is still a fine guitar. None of this damage would have happened if it had a case.
This guitar would be good for that guitar player who wants a 360 Rickenbacker but can’t afford a full price one. It would also be good for a Luther who wants to fix it and resell it for a profit. I guess you could look at it like this. It has a “worn” finish.
The guitar has the following issues with the body of the guitar. At the bottom of the body there is some separation between the top and the side. The finish buckled off near the F hole and around the separation. There is also a crack that appears to only be in the finish. I can put my finger inside and the crack doesn’t seem to be in the wood. There are also two small nicks. One is near where the neck meets the body and the other is on the side below the pick guard. The back doesn’t have any problems. The back doesn’t have any buckle rash but it does have a few small marks.
I contacted Rickenbacker to ask about getting it repaired. Rickenbacker doesn’t do repairs. They referred me to a Luther. I sent him pictures and talked with him on the phone. He said it was an easy fix.
