2006 RICKENBACKER 4003 BASS MIDNIGHT BLUE MADE IN U.S.A.
This bass was purchased from Musician's Friend a few years ago. It is in good condition, but it has been played!!! It has various scuffs, scratches, a few dings, etc... (I will describe the "wear and tear" in as much detail as I can below the description, as well as try to capture the most significant of it in the photos). Other than minor cosmetic "bruises" it is in great condition and is fully functional with no structural or "mechanical" issues.
The following is Rickenbacker's description/specs on the 4003 basses:
The Classic Rickenbacker bass - famous for its ringing sustain, treble punch and solid underlying bass. A subtle strip of binding graces the elegantly curved body and the Rosewood fingerboard. Deluxe triangular inlays and stereo capability are standard features.

Also, as you can see in the photos, the "Pickguardian(.com)" pickup surround has been installed around the bridge pickup, however, the original chrome (over the strings) pickup cover/surround WILL be included as well.
***This bass DOES have the push/pull tone pot..."The Vintage Tone Selector activates a capacitor in the treble pickup circuit to emphasize the high end. Pressed in, you get the familiar 4003 sound, pull it out to add bite and crispness."
List of wear & tear (from top to bottom):
- Headstock: There are a couple of light "dings" on the top of the headstock NOT through to the wood (see photo #2 upper right corner/tip of headstock).
- Neck: The thin clear coat finish in A couple of small areas (on the back of neck) has worn through (wouldn't show up in photos).
- Body: The body has a couple of "dings" down to the wood (see pics #9-10). One has been covered/filled with similar color (on the back of the upper horn - pic #10). One is on the back of the lower horn, this one hasn't been covered/filled (pic #9). There are miscellaneous light scratches/scuffs on the front of body (normal wear from use). The back of the body has some light "buckle" rash. The bottom of the body (where it rests on your leg) also has some "buckle(?)" rash, and also has some of the thin "clear" finish wearing through to the paint (also, couldn't get to show up in photos).
- Bridge: One of the mute adjustment screw springs has been lost and only one of the adjustment screws/springs is currently on the bridge (pic #8), although, the other will be included (if I can find it). These (springs/screws) are sold on Rickenbacker's website fairly cheap (if you wish to use the string mute):
Spring - http://www.rickenbacker.com/cart.asp?viewitem=06117&category=viewitem&buffer_category=Miscellaneous
Adjustment screw - http://www.rickenbacker.com/cart.asp?viewitem=05901&category=viewitem&buffer_category=Miscellaneous
- Case: The original Rickenbacker case which is included has some scuffs/markings on its exterior. Also, the two cloth straps (inside) that prevent the case from being opened "all the way" have come unglued (easy repair). They were glued with what looks to be hot glue, so I imagine this may be a common issue with these cases. Other than that, it is a very rugged and high quality case that will/has protected this instrument well.
- Misc: Other than these specific blems. there is likely to be some light wear, here and there, on this instrument as it has (as stated) been played quite a bit.
***The issues listed above represent the most significant of wear, however, as you can see in the photos most of these issues really aren't too noticeable. I am describing these blemishes in explicit detail with the hope that the "buyer" will be pleasantly surprised when they receive the instrument.
