Apologies for the delay in posting photos and details--it was VERY difficult to get photos that did not make the bass appear overexposed, some photos were taken outdoors, some indoors under fluorescent light, so this may make some photos appear more yellow than they are. Please note that the bass is very glossy, any lines or white areas on the bass are likely background reflection, especially if the photos were taken outdoors.
No reserve auction! Someone will win this 2007 Rickenbacker USA-made Model 4003 bass guitar in limited edition Amber Fireglo color, why not you?
Please read the terms of the auction below. Please DO NOT BID if you do not intend to follow these terms.
Terms of the auction:
First things first: This is NOT a new Rickenbacker USA Model 4003 bass guitar. This bass has been used, handled, and played although very lightly and very infrequently, it is in excellent condition but it is not 'mint' (I personally do NOT believe in a 'mint' categorization for ANYTHING that has ever been removed from a sealed factory box). If you are looking for a new Rickenbacker USA Model 4003 bass guitar with a fresh factory warranty, please go elsewhere and order a new Rickenbacker USA Model 4003 bass guitar for a new Rickenbacker USA Model 4003 bass guitar price. I do not 'inflate' condition based on what I think other people want to hear, I base it on my own observations; if anything, I try to be very conservative in my descriptions and leave the cute adjectives and flowery chatter to used car salesmen.
Please ask ALL questions BEFORE bidding. If my description does not give the information that you are looking for, please ask before bidding.
Guitar is sold as used, AS IS. No returns, all sales final. If you cannot agree to these terms, DO NOT BID.
I DO NOT use 'Buy It Now'. NO TRADES--after all, this is a auction!
Payment is to be by PayPal ONLY, full payment to be made within three business days. You must have a valid, verified and functional PayPal account. Please DO NOT wait until after the auction to find out if your account works or not. Please DO NOT BID if you are not sure or cannot agree to these terms.
I do not ship to P.O. boxes. I only ship to CONFIRMED PayPal addresses. If you do not agree to, or cannot meet these terms, DO NOT BID.
I only ship to the lower 48 States. I do not ship guitars to foreign or international addresses.
Due to my schedule, I do not allow local pickup.
Payment must be received by PayPal within three business days. I will ship once the payment clears. I leave positive feedback once positive feedback has been received.
I DO NOT accept bids from ANYONE with less than 5 positive feedback results, or from ANYONE with less than 95% positive feedback results, unless I grant permission before that bid. Otherwise, I reserve the right to cancel that bid. I reserve the right to cancel any bid.
Insurance is included with the shipping cost.
Final auction price and shipping costs are non-negotiable. If you do not agree to the price, DO NOT BID. Fraudulent activity, including feedback extortion, will be reported to eBay immediately.
If you cannot agree to these terms, DO NOT BID.
Up for auction is a 2007 Rickenbacker Model 4003 Bass in limited edition factory Rickenbacker 'Color Of The Year' (COY) Amber Fireglo. I purchased this bass new at Dave's Guitar Shop in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, as soon as they got it in stock from the factory, I have played it a very small amount (perhaps a couple of hours total) since I purchased it new a few years ago, it has otherwise become a 'closet queen' as I felt it was just too nice looking to use. Frets have practically no wear, I had the action set before delivery to me to be as low as possible, there is some string/fret buzz in the lower registers due to the setup, it has never bothered me, the next owner can adjust the action to their taste. The bass plays well to me. The neck appears straight to me and the bass has been stored indoors in a climate controlled, pet and smoke free environment since I purchased it, and has never been gigged. The original factory Rickenbacker strings are still on the bass. There are no dings, dents, scratches or other damage that I can see, there may be a stray mark on the pickguard from light playing (that's what pickguards are for!), but otherwise the bass appears to me to be as clean as a new one that could be found in a music store. The factory 'Made In America' sticker is still on the pickguard, as well as the factory paper 'Vintage Tone' sticker over the Treble Tone control (yes, the bass has the factory push-pull tone pot, sticker states 'Push-Standard, Pull-Vintage'), please see photos. Features include a eastern maple body and one piece eastern maple through neck construction, vintage-style walnut headstock wings, front-edge body binding and fretboard binding, fretboard inlays, standard and 'Rick-O-Sound' output jacks, bridge pickup cover (never removed), factory Schaller straplock-ready strap buttons (straplocks not included), and case goodies (unfilled warranty card, Rickenbacker catalog, Rickenbacker Guitar and Bass Care and Maintenance Manual, unopened key packet, and Rickenbacker polishing cloth). The unfilled warranty card states 'Model 4003 AFG, Production Date Yr: 07 Mth: 6 (June 2007, my parentheses)'. The bass ships in it's original factory Rickenbacker case, the case has some scuffs and marks on the outside from being moved around in the closet and around the house.
I am selling this bass as again it has been a 'closet queen', it doesn't get played as I purchased it new and I'm reluctant to put any playing wear and tear on it, so it must go. Why buy from a dealer who needs your money to cover their overhead? Please check out my feedback and bid with confidence. Please do not hesitate to ask questions before bidding. Also, please check out my other auctions. Above all else, happy bidding!
