Up for Sale is a 2011 Rickenbacker 4003 in Fire Glo

Here are some of the Details:

• I bought this bass new from dealer in Late November 2011.  Based was made in factory Oct 2011.  Pretty much I have used it several times practicing in my basement.  The sound/tone is Great - that agressive familiar rick tone!  This bass has the vintage tone control also with the slightly thinner 2 piece neck profile, and adjustable pole pieces.  Very nice features; you can make it sound like the 4003 you are used to or pull out the treble tone pot and it sounds just like a 4001! I have had rick basses from just about every era (except the 60s - I wish).  These newer 4003's and the early first run 80's 4003s are my favorite.
• The bass is free from any major blemishes I can see.  Comes with the hard OEM case and candy originally shipped with it.

• This one has some very beautiful tiger maple striping on parts of the neck.  One of the prettier ricks I've seen.  I have had about 20 rics in over the last 20 years.  This one is in my top three for balance, looks, and tone.
• 9.3 lbs. which is a nice balanced weight 

I'm selling this bass for two reasons:  1).  I just ordered a new Ken Smith neck through and need the money to put towards that (my sound as a bass player has been changing more to the Jazz/R&B side of the house), Ricks can do Jazz/R&B, but just in a more old school vintage tone way.  2).  I already have an old 85 4003 thats already beat up I use for gigs, so this one I'm hesitant to put wear and tear on, so I ended up never using it.  I'll always have a Rick in my arsenal.  It's hands down one of the best tones for bass.  Especially for classic rock/alternative/Later Beatles stuff, etc.
