1993 Rickenbacker 4003S FireGlo Bass in Near Mint condition. It's unlikely you will find another one of these any time soon and finding one in this fine a shape...don't count on it. Any apparent finish imperfections are merely light reflections. A truly stunning example of a finely crafted instrument! Currently sports vintage style knobs (originals will be included) and comes with a new set of Rotosound flatwounds for that genuine Sgt. Pepper sound. Same finish and tuners as Macca's original Ric. I have always used flats and so the frets are 99%. She not only looks like a million bucks, she plays like butter with fluid fingering. If you have ever struggled playing a 4003 because of the girth of the neck, do not think this one the same. This is one of the easiest, smoothest playing basses you will find anywhere. Ships in the original Rickenbacker black tolex hardshell case. I am not happy about letting this one go, but I just do not play enough to warrant keeping her. She needs to be played and I will miss her forever. Silly, but true.
From Rickenbacker's 1993 brochure: An update of the earliest 4000 series bass, this unbound body version of the model 4003 captures the flavor of Rickenbacker basses produced in the early 1960's. A simple dot inlaid Rosewood fingerboard adorns a solid Maple neck true to its predecessor. Standard output is monaural through a single jackplate.
